Research in Progress - Origins and Characteristics of the Pokemon

OK, I'll admit to it right now- I've been assigned the task of finding out all I can about the Pokemon phenomena and while I'm having a great time, I find my imagination churning faster than I can find the answers for. So in this article I decided to throw my theories out there and in a later article refute or confirm them.
